The Blue Valley Printing Services' Bindery department offers a wide selection of options for the binding and/or finishing of your print projects.

Collating & Saddle-stitch booklets

  • The most economical of all binding choices, our collator/booklet-maker can saddle-stitch, fold and trim your booklets. Our machine can produce booklets as thick as 25 sheets of 11x17" 20# paper (equaling 100 8.5x11 pages). We also offer the choice of a 'square-back bind,' which squares and flattens the spine of your booklet for a cleaner, more professional look.
Coil Binding
  • Fast and inexpensive, spiral coil binding has quickly become the most popular choice of our customers. Coil binding allows for the book to lay flat when opened, and the pages fold all the way around. These plastic coils can be used to bind books from as small as 5-10 pages to as large as 1.25 inches thick (approximately 340 sheets). Over the past year, Printing Services has invested in new machinery to greatly automate the coil binding process - resulting in faster turn-around times and lower costs to you!
Comb Binding
  • The traditional and inexpensive GBC comb binding that Printing Services has offered for many years features the benefit of being able to open and close the bind to add or remove pages long after the book is first bound.
Tape Binding
  • The smooth look of adhesive-tape binding has been a favorite of many of our customers over the years. However, the drawbacks of this type of bind include a substantially higher cost than the other binding methods, the book will not lay flat when opened, and the process of tape binding is very slow and labor-intensive.
Cutting
  • Our guillotine cutter can accommodate any trimming options your project requires. Whether you need a printed piece trimmed to crops for a professional, full-bleed look, or you just need simple quarter-page notepads, we have the skills and tools to deliver.
Folding
  • Printing Services' high-speed folder can produce many different types of folds to fit your projects' needs. Types of folds available include single, double, letter-fold and the Z-fold. If you project requires a fold style not listed here, contact us and we'll help find the solution.
Scoring
  • Printing Services can score your heavier stocks for crisp, clean folds that will eliminate the cracking of fibrous paper stocks. Whether you need just one score for a single fold, or multiple scores for a complex project, our skilled operators can make it happen.
Perforating
  • Printing Services can perforate your print job, enabling you to utilize tear-off ticket stubs, returnable registration forms, etc. Like our scoring service, we can add just one or multiple perforations to you document.
Padding
  • Printing Services produces notepads and padded forms. Simply tell us how many sheets in each pad (25, 50, 100) and we'll add the adhesive padding glue and a bottom sheet of chipboard for perfect tear-off pads. We also perform padding of multi-part carbonless forms.
Drilling
  • Printing Services offers several options for drilling holes in your project. Whether you want basic 3-hole drilling for insertion into a binder, 2-holes drilled at the top of a page, or perhaps a single hole in the corner of a card, we can accommodate any request.
