The Membership Campaign is a direct mail fundraiser sent to every home with a Blue Valley student in the district in October.

  BVEF Membership Week is October 13-17 and includes the following activities:

Atlanta Bread Company:  They will donate 20% of all dinner sales for the week when BVEF is mentioned. Stop in for dinner and tell them BVEF sent you! Write your school's name on your receipt and the school with most visitors will win cookies for their school.

Charitable Chicks, Wednesday, October 15: A specialty boutique from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will be hosted in the gym in the district office. There will be more than 25 vendors with a variety of unique gifts and specialty items. Atlanta Bread will be serving breakfast and lunch items. The school with the highest attendance will receive $250 grant. Staff members and working parents are encouraged to take advantage of the later hours!

movinNgroovin Kids Night Out, October 17: 6pm to 10pm - your kids will have a great time including dinner while you have an evening out. Activities may include Gymnastics, Sports, Relays, Rockwall, PS2 Cardio (game bikes connected to PS2 games, Dance Dance revolution), Fun Dance and Crafts. Kids ages 3 to 13 years old (younger guests must be toilet trained) are welcome, make your reservation at (913) 851-3400. First child is $25, second is $15 and third is $10.

 

Grants of Educational Excellence update

  September 22 was the deadline for staff members to submit an online application for the BVEF Grants of Educational Excellence. BVEF received 42 applications totaling more than $100,000. Now the BVEF staff and grant committee are hard at work reviewing and scoring these applications. The Surprise Squad will announce grant winners on Monday, November 3.

 

Commerce Bank partners with Harvesters to benefit 3 BV schools

  As part of their grand opening activities, Commerce Bank at 135th and Lamar invited BV schools to make donations to Harvesters. The 3 schools with the most donations would win a grant. The Harvesters drive ended Sept. 15 with a collection of more than 6,250 items! Blue Valley Middle came in first with 2,361 items and won a $2,500 grant, followed by Harmony Elementary with 1,726 items and a $1,500 grant and finally Stilwell Elementary with 883 items and a $1,000 grant. Thanks to everyone for their generous participation!  

 

Crate and Barrel Shopping Extravaganza

  Save-the-Date: Friday, November 14 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. will be a holiday shopping night for all BVEF supporters. Appetizers and wine will be served and free gift will be given with every purchase. Reservations are $10 and invitations will be emailed in October. BVEF will receive the money from the reservations and a percentage of the evening's sales...including gift cards!
