As part of Kansas Quality Performance Accreditation (QPA), all Kansas schools have a Site Council- an advisory team that includes representatives from the school, the parent community, and the business community.

The mission of site council is to advise the principal on matters related to school improvement and to function as a liaison between the school and the community. Teacher members should bring the voice of the school improvement planning team and faculty. Parent members should represent PTO, students at varied grade levels, students with and without exceptionalities, and should also reflect the ethnic and demographic make-up of the school. Site council should also include a member who can speak with the experience of a local businessperson. While being large enough to represent a school community, Site Council must be small enough to function as a team. QPA guidelines recommend at least five meetings per school year. Membership openings are staggered so that the group does not entirely turn over at once.

Our OTE Site Council has been formed and includes: Lisa Duncan, Patty Dykman, Kristin Freeman, Geovy Hernandez, Tashannah Horne, Lea McMonigle, Doris Moore, Eric Moten, Lisa Nickel, Michelle Reinig, Gail Ryan, Kelly Shewmaker & Julia Sobek

Site Council Meetings for the 2010-2011 school year will be at 6:00pm in the OTE Art room on the following dates: September 27th, October 25th, February 28th & March 28th.
