Music is such a vital part of our lives.  Everywhere we go we are surrounded by music.  It is also said that one of the signs of a vibrant culture is the beauty of its music.

Everyday at OTE we are singing in music class and making music fun.  My philosophy of music education is linked primarily to the philosophy of Kodaly.  First, the students sing the songs and play games with the songs.  Second, I present the concept of that lesson (rhythmic or melodic for example).  And finally, we practice that concept in many forms using multiple learning strategies and styles.

This year in music we will be putting on grade level musicals in 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade.  For more information click on the navigation tool bar on the left and view what is happening in each grade level!
